Publishing Ethics and Malpractice Statement

CIMEGS-SEJ (Socio-Economic Journal) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and expects all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to follow these best practices.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

  • Submit original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Ensure proper citation of all sources and avoid all forms of plagiarism.
  • Disclose all potential conflicts of interest and funding sources.
  • Obtain and document ethical approval for research involving human subjects.
  • Engage with the peer review process in a timely, respectful, and professional manner.

2. Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely reviews that help authors improve their work.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline to review if any exist.
  • Treat all submissions as confidential and avoid using information from the manuscript for any purpose.

3. Responsibilities of Editors

  • Make publication decisions based solely on academic quality and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Ensure a fair, unbiased, and confidential peer review process.
  • Investigate and take appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct or ethical violations.

4. Handling of Misconduct

The journal takes all ethical violations seriously. Allegations of plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, or improper authorship will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines. If misconduct is confirmed, the article may be retracted, and an official notice will be issued.
